?Real Housewife? Brandi Glanville and Darin Harvey got married on New Year?s weekend.

?Real Housewives' star Brandi Glanville wed Darin Harvey during New Year?s weekend.

Being married is great and all, but Brandi Glanville isn't planning on sticking with it ? not now, anyway.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star called her impromptu, drunken Vegas wedding to old friend Darin Harvey, a mixed martial arts manager, "super fun," but she has no plans of carrying the marriage into the new year.

"[We?re] married!" Glanville, 38, told Us Weekly. "But to make it legal, I have to go to the courthouse today and I don't think we're gonna. Super fun though!

"We're not gonna stay married. But it was a fun way to start out the new year!"

A source close to Glanville added that there was nothing romantic about the wedding ? in fact, Glanville and Harvey, who've known each other for 20 years, are more like "brother and sister."

"They've never hooked up," the source told Us Weekly. "He came along with her to Vegas and they both got really drunk and thought it was a good idea at the time to get married. ... They kissed for the cameras and that was it."

The reality star, who was married to Eddie Cibrian before the actor was whisked away by singer LeAnn Rimes, took to Twitter over the weekend to write a series of giddy tweets on New Year's Eve about her new husband and to bash her ex.

"Ringing in the new yr in Vegas w/ my gals & BFF of many yrs was SO much fun & we got carried away by getting married!" she wrote, later adding: "Happy New Year tweeters! Nwe year means new twitter!! No more EC or LR on my timeline!"

China says man dies of bird flu (Reuters)

BEIJING (Reuters) ? A man in southern China's Guangdong province died of bird flu Saturday a week after being admitted to hospital with a fever, state media reported.

The 39-year-old bus driver living in Shenzhen, just across the border from Hong Kong, developed symptoms on December 21 and was admitted to a hospital on December 25 because of severe pneumonia, the official Xinhua news agency said.

He died in the early afternoon of multiple organ failure, having tested positive for the H5N1 virus, the report added.

He had no direct contact with poultry in the month prior to getting sick and had not left the city, Xinhua said.

Guangdong's official newspaper, the Southern Daily, said separately that 120 people who had contact with the man had developed no signs of sickness.

About 10 days ago Hong Kong culled 17,000 chickens at a wholesale poultry market and suspended all imports of live chickens from mainland China for 21 days after a dead chicken there tested positive for the H5N1 virus.

The virus is normally found in birds but can jump to people who do not have immunity to it. Researchers worry it could mutate into a form that would spread around the world and kill millions.

In recent years, the virus has become active in various parts of the world, mainly in east Asia, during the cooler months.

Authorities in China are worried about the spread of infectious diseases around this time when millions of Chinese travel in crowded buses and trains across the country to go home to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The current strain of H5N1 is highly pathogenic, kills most species of birds and up to 60 percent of the people it infects.

Since 2003, it has infected 573 people around the world, killing 336.

The virus also kills migratory birds but species that manage to survive can carry and disperse the virus to new, uninfected locations.

It transmits less easily between people but there have been clusters of infections in people in Indonesia and Thailand in the past.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand "Just Too Different," Friends Say

Katy Perry's divorce from Russell Brand wasn't due to a particular event or issue. The couple simply got married too fast and are too different, sources say.

They were infatuated with each other when they wed in October 2010, but had only been together about a year at that point, and things went south fast.

People close to the couple say Katy and Russell were head over heels for each other, fascinated to be with a great person who was an extreme opposite.

The problems came when the honeymoon phase wore off.

A Russell Brand and Katy Perry Pic

After they got married, they fought constantly, often in front of people at clubs and shows. They're both stubborn and strong-willed, making things worse.

Their busy schedules didn't help, as they never spent long periods of time with each other. In the end, despite their attraction, they were "just too different."

Brand, who filed for divorce Friday, is more of a homebody than Katy, 27, who loves going out partying. Russell, 36, has been sober for years and didn't enjoy the scene.

He would often voice his desire to stay in or leave places early, asking her to come with him, which would trigger arguments. So it went. Not a long-term match.

At the end of the day, neither hates the other, there's no bad blood, and not even a hint of impropriety on either part. Just a mutual parting of ways.

Sad, but something a lot of people, famous or not, can relate to.

Vancouver Mayor's Gregor Robertson's foster son facing drug, gun charges

An arrest warrant has been issued for the foster son of Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, who is alleged to have been part of a dial-a-dope-and-gun operation, The Richmond Review has learned.

Jinagh Farrouch Navas-Rivas, 21, has been charged as part of an 18-count criminal indictment involving a total of five men. He is facing two counts of trafficking in cocaine in Richmond and Vancouver, and one count of transferring a .22-calibre Ruger pistol and ammunition without authorization while in New Westminster.

Navas-Rivas has not yet been arrested by Richmond Mounties, and late Thursday afternoon, Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson issued a statement, requesting that Navas-Rivas turn himself into police.

?Today I learned that the Richmond RCMP are seeking Jinagh Navas Rivas on criminal charges," Robertson said in a statement.

?My wife and I foster parented Jinagh for two years until 2009. We have always believed that providing support to youth in need is of great importance and that fostering is an important contribution our family can make.

?It was in this spirit that we took in Jinagh to live with us. He has been on his own now since June 2009.

?I am disappointed to hear that Jinagh is wanted by the Richmond RCMP and I urge him to turn himself into the police immediately.

?Out of respect for the ongoing investigation, I will refrain from commenting further at this time.?

The Robertson family is currently vacationing in Hawaii, and won't return until next week. Navas-Rivas did not accompany them on the vacation, according to Mike Magee, speaking on behalf of the mayor's office.

Robertson and his wife Amy have three other children.

Navas-Rivas was a track athlete while a student at Prince of Wales Secondary in Vancouver, but according to his Facebook account, is originally from Richmond and resides in Vancouver. He played atom level football for the Richmond Jets while in elementary school.

Gregor Robertson made a special point to thank his family during his Nov. 19 victory speech following his successful municipal re-election bid, and referred to a smiling Navas-Rivas?who was standing next to him on the stage?as the "birthday boy." He's also mentioned in Robertson's bio on the City of Vancouver website.

The allegations against Navas-Rivas, who is charged with four other Lower Mainland men, stem from a six-month police investigation into a Lower Mainland dial-a-dope operation and involves offences that allegedly occurred in Richmond, Vancouver and New Westminster.

Dial-a-dope operations involve drug dealers who leave a phone number?sometimes on business cards?with users and addicts, and when drugs are wanted, arrangements are made by phone about the quantity and type of drugs, and drop-off locations where the drugs are exchanged for cash.

The Richmond provincial court indictment also includes three gun charges, two involving the transportation of guns with ammunition and one of possessing a loaded prohibited firearm.

While the charges indicate the police investigation started as late as June, the court information also suggests that Navas-Rivas may not have been involved until later in the investigation.

The first count against Navas-Rivas occurred "on or about" Nov. 4, and involved trafficking in cocaine in Vancouver.

Then Navas-Rivas was co-accused with Leslie James Miller, 29, on a charge of transferring a firearm and ammunition knowing that he was not authorized to do so on Nov. 18 in New Westminster.

Then Navas-Rivas was again accused along with Miller of trafficking cocaine in Richmond on Dec. 9.

How exactly police were able to net these five suspects remains unknown, and many questions will likely remain unanswered until this case goes to trial: Did investigators have an inside informant? Were undercover officers making controlled purchases after being alerted to the group? Was wire-tapping and round-the-clock surveillance involved? And to whom were these guns being delivered and for what purpose?

The indictment against Navas-Rivas and his co-accused was sworn before a justice of the peace at Richmond provincial court on Dec. 23, which is the same day that Mounties arrested Miller. He has a criminal record dating back to 2001.

Co-accused with Navas-Rivas and Miller are: Vingh Hoang (David) Le, Willie Sing Cheung Truong, and Kwok Pui (Raymond) Ma. All, save Miller, remain at large, and have outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Le is facing 14 counts of trafficking in cocaine and ecstasy between June and November of 2011. He was charged in Richmond provincial court with drug possession in 2009, but a stay of proceedings was issued.

Truong is facing a single count of cocaine trafficking in Richmond. He was found guilty of possession for the purposes of trafficking in 2007 and was sentenced to five months in prison along with a lengthy period of probation.

Ma is charged with one count of cocaine trafficking in Vancouver. He has a relatively minor court history involving accusations of supplying liquor to a minor and three fishing-related infractions.

Miller is charged with possessing a loaded prohibited weapon?a .40-calibre Heckler & Kotch handgun?and transferring a .38-calibre Smith & Wesson revolver with ammunition knowing he wasn't authorized to do so. He was charged with impaired driving, uttering death threats, driving without a licence, assaulting a peace officer and mischief in Delta back in 2001. He also faced other charges in North Vancouver in 2007, but a ban remains in place on the details and outcome of that case.

Occupy protesters arrested at Paul, Democratic HQ (AP)

DES MOINES, Iowa ? Police arrested more than a dozen Occupy protesters Thursday in Iowa who are targeting Democrats and Republicans just days before the state's closely watched lead-off presidential caucuses.

Five protesters were arrested outside the Iowa campaign headquarters of presidential contender Ron Paul in Ankeny before the group moved on to the Iowa Democratic Party headquarters in Des Moines, where 12 more were taken into custody. All were ticketed for trespassing and released.

The protests are part of an Occupy the Caucuses effort launched this week in Des Moines that has attracted activists from around the country. Many of them have promised to interrupt campaign activities, and organizers promised more confrontations on Friday with campaign offices of Republican presidential hopefuls.

Occupy the Caucuses spokeswoman Danielle Ryun, who was among those arrested at the state Democratic Party headquarters, said the goal is not to be arrested. But since campaign officials won't listen to them, protesters are willing to be arrested to get their message across, she said.

"It would be great if we could show up, issue our concerns and have the candidates acknowledge us and change their platform," she said.

Those arrested in Des Moines included a 14-year-old girl who was released to her father at the scene. On Thursday, seven protesters were arrested outside Republican Mitt Romney's Des Moines headquarters.

Iowa Democratic Party Executive Director Norm Sterzenbach said the protesters were given the opportunity to express their opinions and party officials listened to their concerns, but he said occupying the party offices was unacceptable.

"Not only does it interfere with the important work that our volunteers and staff do to engage Iowans in the political process, by physically blocking our staff from entering or exiting the building sets a very dangerous precedent," Sterzenbach said in a statement.

Protesters at Paul's campaign headquarters were protesting his proposal to dismantle the Environmental Protection Agency if elected.

Ryun said the Paul campaign headquarters were locked when protesters arrived. By locking their doors, campaigns "are signaling to us that they have become disengaged," Ryun said.

A telephone message left for a Paul campaign spokesman was not returned.

At the Iowa Democratic Party's offices, protesters targeted President Barack Obama, demanding that he put a stop to home foreclosures, turn down campaign donations from Wall Street, and end indefinite detentions of detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

"They're all going to get equal play on this," Ryun said. "We are very disillusioned with every candidate."

Eight protesters were arrested at the party's offices on Dec. 19.

Police in Des Moines and Ankeny said the protesters were given the option of leaving and told if they refused they would be arrested. Police said the arrests were peaceful and no force was used.

The Occupy movement began in New York and has spread across the country. Activists generally protest the growing gap between rich and poor and corporate influence over government.
