Most of us have at least one pet project or labor of love we mean to finish but, for some reason or another, have let fall by the wayside. Stop feeling guilty about it, step back, and create a "time budget" to reconnect with your idea and figure out how much time you really need to get the job done.
Regardless of the reason your pet project has slipped past you, the folks at 99U suggest that taking a step back and creating an actual budget of how much time it'll take to work on and finish your pet project is a great way to kickstart yourself into action. Budget your time?whether it's a few minutes a night or hours on the weekend?the same way you would budget money for a major purchase: a little at a time until you reach your goal.
The article at 99U also suggests you make yourself accountable to friends by being public or transparant about your goals, another topic we wholeheartedly agree with. However you do it, getting momentum on a project without someone prodding you to make progress is difficult, so give yourself all the tools you can.
