One of the most classic lighting choices for a living room is the chandelier. While many people are taking to hanging a chandelier over the dining room table, it still works to hang it above your living room. Remember that chandeliers will lend a certain air of feminine class and charm to your house and that they will attract a lot of attention. You should also consider that chandeliers require a lot of head room, so make sure your ceilings are quite high before you consider purchasing one.? While hanging lamps aren?t very glamorous, they add a great look to your home without being overly attention seeking. If you want something a little more ?spicy? you can opt for a patterned lamp hood; or you can get a hanging lamp with a chandelier inside.

Track Lights & Spotlights Are Modern & Edgy
Track lights and spotlights are increasing in popularity, especially in modern homes. Spot lights can be purchased in rows, in circles or even on their own to be installed pretty much anywhere on the ceiling. Spot lights allow the benefits of being able to move the lighting around (aim it where you want it) and to highlight key places in your house with lights. Most track lights use halogen bulbs which create a very bright white light, perfect for viewing all of the beautiful colours in your home.
