ENNISKILLEN, Northern Ireland (AP) ? Leaders of eight of the world's wealthiest nations sought elusive progress on lowering trans-Atlantic trade barriers and pushing the warring factions in Syria toward the negotiating table as the G-8 summit opened Monday amid high security in peaceful Northern Ireland.

Ahead of the official welcome gathering, British Prime Minister David Cameron and U.S. President Barack Obama appealed to their colleagues to draw inspiration from Northern Ireland's efforts to reconcile British Protestants and Irish Catholics following decades of bloodshed.

Obama, flying into Belfast with his wife and daughters on Marine One, told an audience packed with 1,800 teenagers from dozens of largely segregated schools that Northern Ireland's young generation must take the lead in building on the U.K. region's U.S.-brokered Good Friday peace accord of 1998.

Then Obama and Cameron together visited one of Northern Ireland's relatively few integrated elementary schools designed to mix children from both sides of the community.

Referring to Northern Ireland's ability to leave behind a four-decade conflict that claimed 3,700 lives, Cameron said leaders of the Group of Eight wealthy nations should be inspired by the setting ? a golf resort in the lush lakelands of County Fermanagh ? to deliver their own economic and peacemaking breakthroughs.

"Ten or 20 years ago, a G-8 in Fermanagh would have been unimaginable. But today Northern Ireland is a very different place ... a symbol of hope to the world," Cameron said.

Cameron, Obama and European Union leaders were expected to unveil a formal agreement Monday to open negotiations on forging an EU-U.S. free trade pact designed to slash tariffs, boost exports and fuel badly needed economic growth.

Those EU-U.S. talks could start next month, with the end of 2014 a tentative goal for a deal that would lower prices on European and American imports and stimulate growth.

That's the easy part of the agenda. Later Monday over a working dinner, President Vladimir Putin and Russia's support for the Syrian government will be on the menu.

Cameron said he wanted the summit to deliver a firm plan for promoting multi-faction talks in Geneva. Moscow officially shares that goal but keeps shipping military aid to the army of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Following a frosty Putin-Cameron meeting Sunday in London, the Russian leader remains opposed to plans by the West to start shipping weapons to rebels struggling to topple Assad.

Obama announced Friday that the U.S. would start sending weaponry, while Britain and France remained concerned that the firepower might end up helping anti-democratic extremists linked to Iran and Lebanon's Hezbollah militia.

Cameron said Syria deserved "a government that represents them, rather than a government that's trying to butcher them."

"We shouldn't accept that the only alternative to Assad is terrorism and violence. We should be on the side of Syrians who want a democratic and peaceful future for their country and one without the man who is currently using chemical weapons against them," Cameron said.

Russia's envoy for G-8 matters, Alexei Kvasov, said Russia would not shift its position in response to strong Western rhetoric and dismissed U.S. and French claims that the Syrian army had used chemical weapons against civilians.

"Emotions are flying high over Syria, but I wouldn't view those emotions too seriously," Kvasov told reporters. "We need to find common ground, and there is some. No one would contest the fact that there is a humanitarian crisis there and it's necessary to offer relief, to try to help reduce human suffering."

Kvasov compared the claims of Syrian chemical weapons use with U.S. claims in 2003, later proved false, that Iraq's Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction.

Protesters demanding Western intervention in Syria erected a field of white crosses near Belfast City Hall to symbolize the estimated death toll of 93,000 from the two-year war.

In a lighter-hearted vein, eight other G-8 protesters sailed past the Enniskillen media center in a Viking-style longboat and donned massive heads depicting each of the summit leaders. They hoisted a banner that read "End tax dodging," referring to multinational companies' use of complex tax laws to shelter their profits beyond the reach of national tax authorities.

Northern Ireland's police stepped up security dramatically ahead of the leaders' arrival at the Lough Erne resort west of Enniskillen. Four-member units in body armor and armed with handguns and submachine guns parked armored cars on every intersection and side street in this rural market town of barely 15,000 residents.

Officers on foot patrol prodded hedgerows and the front gardens of brick row houses for potential explosive devices, but found nothing suspicious. Such precautions reflected the continued low-level activity of Irish Republican Army splinter groups that rejected the 2005 decision of most IRA members to formally abandon their campaign to force Northern Ireland into the Republic of Ireland.

More than 3,500 officers from Britain have been imported to double the security detail, and British army engineers have helped to erect a daunting perimeter of steel fences and coiled razor wire for miles (kilometers) around the resort's lone road entrance.

Air space over much of Northern Ireland is being restricted to summit traffic for the duration of the meetings, which conclude Tuesday. And the water around the resort's peninsula has been similarly closed to civilians, with police patrolling by boat, although the public is still free to fish from shore.

The police commander of G-8 security, Assistant Chief Constable Alistair Finlay, said he expects peace to reign when socialist and anti-globalization protesters march Monday night from central Enniskillen to the fence.

Finlay said while officers had trained to manage crowds of more than 10,000 protesters, this was unlikely to materialize Monday, with just 2,000 expected and few anti-G-8 activists traveling from continental Europe for the occasion.

Cameron said he also hoped to achieve agreement that no G-8 member should pay ransoms to secure the release of hostages in North Africa, where western and Asian workers are top targets for kidnappers.

Jack Johnson pulls off the switch at Bonnaroo

(AP) ? Nicely done, Jack Johnson.

Johnson and his band overcame tough odds and thorny logistics to headline the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on Saturday night, replacing late cancellation Mumford & Sons. The group overcame short notice and thorny logistics to produce a set filled with good humor, mellow vibes and a ton of hits.

"We want to dedicate this whole set to Ted Dwane and all of Mumford & Sons," Johnson said after taking the stage before tens of thousands of fans. "And we wish we could all be here playing music together. Maybe that will be next year."

Mumford & Sons was forced to pull out of its much-anticipated headline slot on Thursday after bassist Dwane underwent a surgical procedure earlier in the week to treat a blood clot on his brain. The group had hoped to keep the date in Manchester. Though Dwane is recovering, he was not ready to perform and the group was unwilling to take the stage with a replacement, leaving a large amount of money on the table.

There was much speculation among Bonnaroo organizers and watchers about how fans would react to the switch ? the first headliner cancellation in 12 years of Bonnaroo. But Johnson quickly won over the crowd and kept its fickle attention with a light touch and his easygoing persona.

"Give us that one," Johnson joked after a flub late in the set. "We practiced for a couple of hours."

Bonnaroo 2013 turned out quite differently from what Johnson was expecting. He hasn't played the festival since 2008 and was in town to do a little light promotion for his new album, "From Here To Now To You," out in September, and to appear with his friends in ALO.

He got a phone call Thursday as he drove to the festival from organizers wondering if he'd be interested in upping his involvement.

After thinking about it, Johnson flew in his band, rehearsed some Friday night, attended a breakfast with fans in Nashville on Saturday morning and then prepped for the show. It's been two years since the four-piece played a long set, convening for just 45 minutes last year at Farm Aid.

About the only thing that seemed the worse for wear were the 38-year-old Hawaiian singer's trademark curls, which unraveled in middle Tennessee's oppressive humidity.

Heck, Johnson even had time to write a new song called "Bonnaroo" for the set, singing in part: "I had a late-night gig with ALO/It was very low stress, it was very low pro/But then the phone rang and things got strange/And my low pro was about the change/Can you get the band together in two days to play a show up on the big stage?/But I don't know, it's been a year or two since we played these tunes/What the hell, it's Bonnaroo."

A little later in the set he incorporated Mumford's "The Cave" into a medley with his song "Go On," telling the crowd: "Maybe you guys can help us with this part."

For those not into Johnson, there were plenty of other options on an exceedingly busy Saturday night that included appearances by British punker Billy Idol, Weird Al Yankovic and the Rock 'n' Soul Dance Party Superjam with Jim James and John Oates.

Mumford & Sons' folk-rock cousins The Lumineers drew one of the festival's largest crowds before Johnson took the stage. It was so large, in fact, fans on the edge of the crowd couldn't hear the band's mostly hushed, acoustic songs.

"Everybody be quiet, I'm trying to hear the band," one fan yelled as The Lumineers possibly performed a Bob Dylan song.

R&B singer R. Kelly had no trouble getting attention, though. He began his post-Johnson set by bringing dozens of chorus members on stage for a rendition of his song "Ignition." Suddenly the lights went dark and Kelly was illuminated 40 feet above, standing in the basket of a crane that hovered over the Which Stage's distinctive question mark symbol.

"They told me back stage there's no cursing here," Kelly told the crowd a little later. "I just laughed. I can't (expletive) curse?"

Naughtmuch Directory ? Is Hemorrhoids Curable With Herbal ...

Hemorrhoids do not fall in the throng of degenerative disease (restricted to aged persons alone) but can strike any healthy individual in all age groups without warning. There are certainly lines of treatment in the medicinal stream that address the symptoms of piles and alleviate the discomfort of the disease but such inhibitors can hardly be deemed the mainstay of hemorrhoids therapy because of long-term fluctuations and recurrence, abnormal side-effects and other undesirable physiological/psychological manifestations. These bothersome mucosal lined projections are harbinger of serious underlying disease such as diverticular bleeding, several types of colitis, Crohn?s disease or even death (though mortality rate is significantly low) and can lead to complications like venous stasis or portal hypertension commonly associated with cirrhosis of the liver if left untreated for long.

Alongside the benefits of therapeutic interventions and early endoscopy, patients must adapt holistic approach of extirpation of associated pathologic conditions like diarrhea, chronic constipation, gastritis, injuries of anal sphincter or spinal cord, traumatic delivery, anal intercourse etc. Awareness about the root causes or perpetual/sudden inflammatory or irritable changes contributing of hemorrhoids; suggests that careful restriction of these triggers may in itself be the primary precursor to a total cure from the disease.

But we all know that the recuperation from ailments is a lot easier through natural and herbal methods than even the safest suppressive drugs or surgical modality. Ayurveda is a traditional healing science with patents all over the world and can successfully control the pathogenic risk factors leading to development of hemorrhoids. It has an unmatched success rate in establishing the cause and effect relationships of pathogenic influences of all diseases. It lends itself to safe conservative treatment through hygiene, healthy diet and improved lifestyle patterns.

An herbal supplement with genuine herbs can naturally be a wholesome part of this regime. Pilesgon capsule, the forerunner in herbal remedies for hemorrhoids, has near to 98% favourable outcome in consumer satisfaction. The best part of treatment with Pilesgon is that there are no taxing hospital or doctor consultation or post-operative visits involved, it ensures fastest wound-healing in cases of rupture, regularizes bowel movement, is painless, normal routine is not hampered and does not require additional drugs or procedures to deliver results.

If you ask is hemorrhoid curable with herbal remedies? The answer is YES. There is often a spiritual side of every disease that is caused by emotional trauma, shock, accident or erroneous coding of genetic material due to lifestyle malfunction over generations or years; or accumulative disruptions caused by toxins. A formula of innocent unadulterated herbs can actually remove the vibrational fields of anger, frustration, shock, and/or fear, impurity due to toxins and can open up the lymphatic system with subsequent drainage of these toxins out of the body. Having ready-made herbal remedies for hemorrhoids or any disease corrects the energy field of the physical body so that it may receive proper nutrients and be cured of all diseases.

Tropical Storm Andrea zipping up the East Coast

MIAMI (AP) ? After bringing rains, heavy winds and even tornadoes to parts of Florida, Tropical Storm Andrea was moving quickly toward the coast of Georgia and the Carolinas early Friday, promising sloppy commutes and waterlogged vacation getaways through the beginning of the weekend.

The first named storm of the Atlantic season was losing some intensity late Thursday and by early Friday, its winds were down to 45 mph (75 kph).

Ben Nelson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, said Andrea was "moving at a pretty brisk pace" and could lose its tropical characteristics as early as Friday morning.

However, forecasters warned it could cause isolated flooding and storm surge over the next two days.

Heavy rains were continuing well away from the storm's center. The weather service in Charleston, S.C., advised of "an enhanced coastal flooding threat near the high tide Friday morning," as well as of possible tornadoes. Rain bands could bring wind gusts in excess of 40 mph or 50 mph, the weather service said.

Early Friday, tropical storm warnings remained in effect for the East Coast from Altamaha Sound in Georgia to Cape Charles Light in Virginia, the Pamlico and Albemarle sounds and the lower Chesapeake Bay south of New Point Comfort. A tropical storm warning means tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere inside the warning area within a day and a half.

As of 5 a.m. EDT Friday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Andrea was about 30 miles (50 kilometers) northeast of Savannah, Ga., having made landfall a day earlier in Florida's Big Bend area. Andrea was moving northeast near 28 mph (44 kph).

Rains and winds from the storm were forecast to sweep northward along the Southeastern U.S. coast Friday.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott had warned of the risk of tornadoes, and officials said that eight were confirmed across the state.

"This one fortunately is a fast-moving storm," he said Thursday. Slower-moving storms can pose a greater flood risk because they have more time to linger and dump rain.

In The Acreage, a part of Palm Beach County, Fla., pre-kindergarten teacher Maria Cristina Arias choked back tears and clutched valuable personal papers as she surveyed the damage done by a tornado to her five-bedroom home when she was away. Windows were smashed and a neighbor's shed had crashed into her bedroom.

"It's all destroyed," she told The Palm Beach Post. "This is unbelievable. I don't know what we're going to do."

Her 19-year-old son, Christian, was sleeping when he heard a loud noise.

"It was really scary," said the teen, who wasn't hurt. "It sounded like something exploded. I didn't know what was going on."

Meanwhile, south Georgia residents were bracing for high winds and heavy rains that could lead to flooding.

On Cumberland Island off the Georgia cost, the National Park Service was evacuating campers as the storm approached Thursday.

"My main concern is the winds," said chief park ranger Bridget Bohnet. "We're subject to trees falling and limbs breaking, and I don't want anybody getting hurt."

Forecasters were predicting the storm would pass through Georgia overnight, and the island would likely re-open to tourists Friday.

"It looks like it's picking up speed and that's a good thing because it won't sit and rain on us so long," said Jan Chamberlain, whose family runs the Blue Heron Inn Bed & Breakfast near the Sapelo Island Ferry station on Georgia's coast, on Thursday.

In the Carolinas, Andrea's biggest threat was heavy rain, with as much as 6 inches expected, the weather service said.

Forecasters didn't expect major problems, however, along the most vulnerable parts of the coast such as the Outer Banks, a popular tourist destination.

John Elardo, a meteorologist with the weather service in Newport, N.C., said the storm would push major waves to the north and northeast, away from the Outer Banks, where storms in the fall and winter wore away dunes and washed out portions of N.C. Highway 12, the only road connecting the barrier island to the mainland of North Carolina.

Andrea could bring up to a foot of flooding on the sound side of the Outer Banks, Elardo said.

The rain threatened to ruin a beach day for Angela Hursh, 41, of Cincinnati, who had rented a house in Frisco, N.C. Hursh was planning Friday to soak in the hot tub and watch movies with her 9-year-old and 13-year-old daughters.

"I think we're just going to hunker down and eat junk food," Hursh said Thursday.

Doug Brindley, who owns a vacation lodging rental service on the northern end of the Outer Banks near Virginia, said Thursday he expects all outdoor activities to be washed out Friday, driving tens of thousands of early-summer vacationers toward unexpected shopping sprees.

"We're going to have rain and wind," said Brindley, who owns Brindley Beach Vacations and Sales. "Retailers are going to love it."

In Cuba, heavy rains associated with the storm system have soaked the western part of the island for the past several days, overflowing rivers and damaging crops. At least 30 towns were cut off by flooding, and more than 2,600 people sought refuge from the rising waters at relatives' homes or state-run shelters, the Communist Party newspaper Granma reported Thursday.

Pakistan summons US envoy over drone strike

ISLAMABAD (AP) ? Just days after taking power, Pakistan's new government has lodged a protest with the U.S. and summoned a top American envoy to vent its frustration following a U.S. drone strike that intelligence officials say killed seven militants.

Friday night's drone strike near the Afghan border came just two days after Nawaz Sharif was sworn in as prime minister. Sharif has insisted the U.S. stop such attacks, saying they violate Pakistan's sovereignty

The protest lodged Saturday indicates Sharif will ? at least publicly ? take a tougher line on the matter than the preceding government. That government routinely condemned such strikes but was believed to have secretly supported at least some of them.

A government statement says U.S. charge d'affaires Richard Hoagland was summoned to the Foreign Office on Sharif's instructions.
